The much-loved actor could not appear in person at the 'Friends' reunion as his illness kept him in bed, so to be part of the episode, he appeared via Zoom.

James played the sarcastic coffee shop employee, ‘Gunther’.

Tyler told TODAY’s Craig Melvin: "I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, which had spread to my bones. I've been dealing with that diagnosis for almost the past three years. ... It's stage 4 (now). Late-stage cancer. So eventually, you know, it's probably going to get me. The illness was first caught during an annual check-up.”
