Adolf Hitler memorabilia sold for R18-million!
An item which is said to have belonged to Adolf Hitler was sold for $1.1-million (R18-million) at an auction in the US.
A Huber watch with a swastika and the initials AH engraved on it has been sold at an auction in America. The timepiece was allegedly owned by Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
According to BBC News, the watch was sold to an anonymous bidder for $ 1.1-million.

Alexander Historical Auctions in Maryland, USA have received backlash from the Jewish community following the auctioning of the Hitler memorabilia.
The auction house, which has sold Nazi memorabilia in the past, claimed that its aim was to preserve history.
Following an assessment by the auction house, it was revealed that the watch was taken as a souvenir when some 30 French soldiers stormed the Berghof, Hitler's mountain retreat, in May 1945.

BBC News reported that "the product catalogue for the watch says it was possibly given as a birthday present to the fascist leader in 1933, the year he became Chancellor of Germany."
