Former West Ham United and Fulham defender John Paintsil could sign for Polokwane City after the PSL Strugglers tabled an offer for the Ghanaian.
The Polokwane-based outfit met with Paintsil this morning and tabled their offer to the 32-year-old former Black Stars skipper.
City’s Media and Liaison Officer, Pat Baloyi, has revealed that the team’s management met the player this morning.
“We met the Ghanaian international defender this morning and we had a lengthy discussion. We have tabled our offer and we will now wait to hear from him.
"He is keen on joining us but we just have to wait, we will know by the end of the week. He expressed his willingness to play for us. Unfortunately I cannot disclose the details of the offer yet,” Baloyi told Soccerladuma.
City are currently without a coach and when asked about developments in connection with candidates, Baloyi said that they are yet to make a decision.
Following Clinton Larsen’s resignation from his coaching job at Bloemfontein Celtic, Baloyi denied that they’re talking to the Durban-born tactician, having been linked to the City job.
“We do have candidates for now and I can’t tell you if we met with Larsen as rumours were doing the rounds, but I will be in a position to tell you tomorrow. We are meeting all the candidates and we will take it from there,” added Baloyi.
