Cheetahs to host Jaguars in Bloem
Updated | By ANA
The Toyota Cheetahs will kick-off their Super Rugby campaign against the Jaguars from Argentina on February 26 in Bloemfontein in what will be their first match as an independent franchise.
Over the last nine years the Cheetahs Super Rugby franchise also included the, Griquas and Griffons, in what was known as South Africa’s central franchise.
The Cheetahs have, however, moved away from that agreement although they will still consider selecting players from their neighbour provinces by mutual agreement from their previous affiliates in the new expanded Super Rugby tournament.
The Free State Cheetahs will in 2016 be the sole shareholder of the Toyota Cheetahs franchise. The team will also play under a new logo. - ANA
