Blitzboks draw top seeds Canada in Paris

Canada are top seeds for the ninth and penultimate round of the World Sevens Series, taking place at the Stade Jean Bouin, in Paris on the weekend of May 13 and 14.

The Canadians were rewarded with the favourable seeding, following their heroics in Singapore on the weekend, beating rivals, the USA, 26-19 in the cup final. The tournament saw heavyweights Fiji, New Zealand and overall series leaders, SA, surprisingly eliminated at the quarter-final stage.
In Pool A are Canada, South Africa, Scotland and Japan.
Singapore runners-up USA are drawn alongside New Zealand, Wales and Argentina in Pool B.
Third in the current sevens series overall, England will face Kenya, France and invitational side Spain, who were recent series-qualifier winners in Hong Kong, in Pool C.
Australia joins Fiji, Samoa and Russia in Pool D.
Pools for Paris Sevens:
Pool A: Canada, South Africa, Scotland, Japan
Pool B: USA, New Zealand, Wales, Argentina
Pool C: Kenya, France, Spain, Hong Kong
Pool D: Australia, Fiji, Samoa, Russia.
