Bafana Bafana’s last-minute goal sinks Black Stars

Bafana Bafana took the lead in Group G on Monday evening at FNB Stadium after taking a crucial win against Ghana in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
This despite missing several crucial shots at goal.
Percy Tau netted an opening goal in the first half but a match official lifted the offside flag, denying the top striker an early goal.
Soon after the disappointing call, Evidence Makgopa took on Ghanaian goalie Richard Ofori but also missed a crucial chance at goal.
When the halftime whistle blew, both teams retreated to the change rooms with a goalless draw but Bafana Bafana looked adamant to prove a point.
The matched picked up in tempo in the second half, with Bongokuhle Hlongwane already looking like a firm favourite at goal.
An injured Ofori came off, making way for Lawrence Ati-Zigi - a move that proved deadly for the top African squad.
Hlongwane finally scored the lone goal late in the second half when he caught Ayi-Zigi unawares.
SA goalie Ronwen Williams hardly featured in the match, with Ghana chasing after Bafana Bafana.
The 1-0 win for the hosts puts them at the top of their group with 4 points, followed by the black Stars with 3 points.
Zimbabwe sits on third position with a point, while Ethiopia lags behind without a point.
Hugo Broos’ SA team will take on Ethiopia in a month’s time.
