We posed the question - which is really quicker in rush hour bumper to bumper traffic - sitting in your car or getting out and walking? Well, there is only one way to find out, so who will do it? AROD will do it!
So we sent Arod off on a treadmill, strapped and secured on the back of Kia 1 ton truck, and they departed from the Discovery building in the heart of Sandton, en route to Monte Casino, straight down one of Gautengs busiest roads, the William Nicol Drive, a total distance of around 11 km's. Here is what happened -
Arod prepares for the big traffic challenge!
Arod gets spotted by a listener sitting in the traffic
Arod going strong in the traffic!
It was neck and neck all the way, Arod kept up a strong pace!
It was a valiant effort, but with the truck finishing at Monte Casino after 11.5kms, Arod was less than 1km behind at 10.3kms. So Close! Well done Arod!
Huge thanks to Kia for the use of their truck, as well as Pierre Van Ryneveld from Extreme Health & Fitness in Centurion for the use of his treadmill for Arod!
Dont forget to get yoyr entries in for the Discovery Jacarand aFM Spring Walk, coming up on the 24th September! For more details click HERE
