Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
Eskom has confirmed that a large fire has broken out at the Kendel power station in Ogies, Mpumalanga.

"Eskom can confirm that a fire broke out on one of the conveyor belts taking the ash out of the Kendal power station this morning,” says Eskom spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha.
“The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries."
Mantshantsha says the fire has had no effect on the generation of electricity and the belt will be replaced on Friday.
Operations at the power station are expected to continue as normal.
