The United Democratic Movement (UDM) on Tuesday confirmed the kidnapping of its Deputy President, Nqabayomzi Kwankwa.

Kwankwa, who is also a member of parliament, was kidnapped on his way to Cape Town Airport en route to attend the presidential inauguration.
The party says a R10,000 ransom was paid for his safe return.
He was robbed of his car and other belongings, car was later found abandoned.
"The UDM paid the ransom, and Mr Kwankwa was safely released, albeit shaken and traumatised. He is in contact with the police, and his family has been informed of what has occurred," said UDM Secretary General Yongama Zigebe.
"The UDM is saddened by this horrific event but is very grateful for his safe return. We wish Tshawe well on his road to recovery from this dastardly incident."
