Two arrested for murder of former world champion Jacques Fre

Police have made a breakthrough in the murder case former high-jump world champion Jacques Freitag.

Two suspects have been arrested in Sabie, Mpumalanga, in connection with the murder.
They were found at their hideout in one of the guesthouses.
The 42-year-old former athlete went missing last month and was later found dead near the Zandfontein cemetery in Pretoria West.
Gauteng police spokesperson Brenda Muridili said the pair is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
Jacques Freitag is one of only ten athletes to win world championships at the youth, junior, and senior levels of an athletic event. These include the likes of Usain Bolt, Veronica Campbell-Brown, and Kirani James.
