Tshwane council chaos puts pin in Brink no-confidence motion
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The ANC's motion of no confidence against Tshwane Mayor Cilliers Brink failed to materialise on Thursday after council descended into chaos.

Brink was expected to table governance reports, but the ANC prevented him from speaking, demanding an explanation for his comparing ANC councillors to drunkards.
Council Speaker Mncedi Ndzwanana postponed the sitting until further notice.
Brink said he would be meeting with the speaker to urge him to apply house rules during council sittings.
"The speaker called off the entire meeting because of what was clear to me as physical intimidation. What worries me was the very violent and hate speech rhetoric in the council meeting,
"To make sure that we apply the rules of council and finish council business, we're here to serve the residents of the city.
Brink believes the ANC's motion of no confidence against him is due to disciplinary measures taken against senior officials.
The ANC claims that service delivery in the city has deteriorated during Brink's tenure.
