Tshwane appoints new fire & rescue chief

The City of Tshwane has appointed Charles Mabaso as the new head of Fire and Rescue Operations.

Mabaso, who is the current EMS spokesperson, started as a volunteer at the emergency services department 23 years ago.
In his new role, Mabaso will be responsible for overseeing all fire and rescue operations.
Tshwane Community Safety MMC Grandi Theunissen has hailed Mabaso for his high-profile emergency response operations.
"His focus on fire and rescue will play a key role in advancing the division’s goals of innovation, efficiency and community resilience, ensuring that our firefighters are well prepared to respond to any emergency.
"The addition of Divisional Chief Mabaso to the management team will further bolster our capacity to deliver our promise of protecting and serving the community with the highest standards of professionalism and care in Tshwane.
"I look forward to the positive contribution he will undoubtedly make to the ESD," he added.
