Third wave most likely to hit at the end of March - scientis
Scientists say the expected third wave of Covid-19 cases will most probably hit the country at the end of next month.
Acting deputy vice-chancellor of research and innovation at the University of KwaZulu-Natal Professor Mosa Moshabela says on the projections that they have, there tends to be 2 to 3 months in-between the waves.
"Also based on the fact that we don't yet have enough sizeable population vaccinated and that we are approaching winter whereby a lot of people are gathered around.

“This may happen after the Easter holidays. These are all conditions we think combined will lead to a third wave."
He says South Africans need to be prepared.
“We have to think about preventing it and keeping as low as possible so that it's not as severe as the second wave and make sure we get the population to prepare for it in a way it can help us control the wave and the health, including in what we are trying to do in vaccinating all healthcare workers."
