Slight drop in fuel price predicted for September
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Motorists can expect a slight drop in the price of fuel in September.

The Automobile Association's (AA) prediction is based on unaudited mid-month data released by the Central Energy Fund.
Spokesperson Layton Beard says this is be due to a tug-of-war between international oil prices and the rand/US dollar exchange rate.

Beard says the slight drop depends on whether the rand can hold its own against the dollar.
"We are predicting a decrease of around 9 cents per litre for petrol, with diesel coming down by around 7 cents and illuminating paraffin lower by around 12 cents per litre.
"At this stage of the oil price hold where it is the outlook is quite positive but if the rand continues to weaken against the dollar the consumers could be in a bit of trouble.”
