Defence Minister Angie Motshekga says she is ready to support the police in ensuring an incident-free Opening of the Parliamentary Address.

Motshekga met with members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) on Thursday, and she said they are the pride of the nation.
The army is responsible for President Cyril Ramaphosa's ceremonial procession ahead of the event at Cape Town City Hall.
Despite gloomy weather, Motshekga said they are ready for the ceremonial activities
"We are here to ensure that South Africans have the opportunity to admire and see the beauty and protection of their nation through the ceremonials that we are going to do today. So that South Africans can know that they are defended and protected from the sea into the skies and the ground.”
Meanwhile, Police Minister Senzo Mchunu also gave the marching orders to a group of various law enforcement officers who have been deployed to safeguard the Opening of Parliament Address.
He urged them to remain vigilant.
"When anyone in our nation looks at you individually and as a collective, they must see order, dignity and stability of South Africa as a whole. You hold the line, you ensure that everyone is safe and nothing goes wrong.”
