Roads closures for EFF march to Sandton

The Johannesburg Metro Police (JMPD) has warned of road closures due to an Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) 10 years celebration carnival march on Saturday.

The march is expected to start at the Alexandra Stadium and proceed to Mushroom Park, Sandown.
The carnival procession is expected to arrive in Sandton at 4 pm where the main celebrations will take place.
JMPD spokesperson, Xolani Fihla says the participants will line up on 12th Avenue in Alexandra at 10 am.
"Road Closures will be implemented at Pan Africa Mall in Alexandra from 5 am until the procession arrives, which is on Watt Street and Second Avenue, Watt Street and Third Avenue, Watt Street and Pretoria Main Road," he says.
"Road closures will be implemented at Alexandra Stadium from 5 am until 10 am on both sides of 12th Avenue and Reverend Sam Buti Street.”
"Officers will be deployed to monitor the march and all affected routes. Motorists are urged to be patient as the procession passes through the mentioned routes, rather avoid, and use alternative routes," he added.
