South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) says current recipients of the Covid-19 grant need not re-apply in order to receive their money.

During his State of the Nation Address on Thursday, President Cyril Ramaphosa extended the grant for another three months.

"We are still waiting on the directives to be issued by the Minister (of Social Development),” says SASSA spokesperson Paseka Letsatsi.
"We want to assured those who were given the R350 that they need not reapply, but those who appealed as well, it is not necessary for them to make another application," Letsatsi said.
Lestatsi has appealed to South Africans to be patient while the department processes all the applications.
"It will take us about two weeks for us to finalise everything."
