Ramaphosa appoints raft of new ministers in cabinet reshuffle, Mashatile as deputy

President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed several new ministers to his cabinet as government looks to solve the myriad of crises affecting the country.

Ramaphosa made the announcement at the Union building on Monday.


Paul Mashatile is the new deputy president, while former Tshwane Mayor Kgosientsho Ramokgopha has been appointed as the new Electricity Minister.


The new Cooperative Governance minister is Thembi Nkdadimeng, replacing Ramaphosa critic Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.


However, Dlamini Zuma will now head the ministry for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities in the Presidency.


Minister in the Presidency is Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, while Minister in the Presidency responsible for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation is Maropene Ramokgopa.


The new Transport Minister is Sindisiwe Chikunga, while the communications portfolio goes to Mondli Gungubele.


Public Service and Administration will now be led by Noxolo Kiviet, while former KZN premier Sihle Zikalala heads the Public Works and Infrastructure.


Ramaphosa ally Zizi Kodwa has been moved from State Security to Sports, Arts and Culture.


Patricia de Lille will replace Lindiwe Sisulu as Tourism Minister.


Former Transport Minister Dipuo Peters has made a somewhat of a political comeback as Deputy Minister of Small Business Development.
