Police officer fingered in killing of Samantha Radebe
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) says a police officer shot and killed Alexandra resident Samantha Radebe.

Acting Ipid head Victor Senna, police commissioner Khehla Sitole and deputy police minister Cassel Mathale held an imbizo at Alexandra on Sunday.
Residents had an opportunity to voice their frustration around policing and crime in the area, with many calling for answers on the death of Radebe.
The 31-year-old woman was killed in a shootout between police and alleged criminals in Alexandra last month.
Another person was wounded after he was caught in the crossfire.
Senna on Sunday confirmed that the bullet that killed Radebe belonged to a police pistol.

"To date we have received ballistic reports, which confirms that the gun that actually shot Samantha Radebe belongs to the police," he said.
Investigations are almost complete with only a few reports needed.
"All that is outstanding now is the DNA report, as well as the postmortem report and then after that, we'll be in a position to refer the case to the NPA for prosecution,” said Senna/
"The indication we got is that within 35 days we'll get the report from the forensic labs."
Sitole confirmed the police officer had not yet been suspended as they are still awaiting the formal report from the Ipid.
"We are waiting for what we call a factual report from the investigating institution.
“After they have given us the factual report then I am the able to make a decision whether the incident or the outcome of the preliminary investigation does it warrant that we should suspend the member.”
He added: “What the Ipid has given you now has not yet reached me in the form of a report, but we have agreed with Ipid that the investigation is completed. They will give me that report within two days from now."
