Ekurhuleni emergency services have confirmed the death of one person in a crash involving two minibus taxis in Alberton.

The two taxis collided in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Emergency services spokesperson William Ntladi says some passengers sustained moderate and critical injuries.
"On arrival, we found two taxis involved in a crash; one of the drivers was still trapped inside the vehicle behind the steering wheel, and one other front passenger was also trapped.
"We had to access and free the entrapments, and unfortunately, in the operation, one female adult was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.
"Other patients were transported to nearby hospitals. The cause of the accident is still undetermined.”
