NPA withdraws charges in Krugersdorp gang rape case
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
The National Prosecuting Authority decided to withdraw the charges of rape, sexual assault, and robbery with aggravating circumstances against all 13 men and the minor on Thursday.

The 13 men and the minor were charged for the July rape.
Eight women were allegedly gang-raped while filming a music video at an old mine dump in Krugersdorp.
NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonodwana says the authority will continue with prosecution for the Contravention of the Immigration Act.
"The prosecution will however continue in the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court in respect of charges of the Contravention of the Immigration Act.
"Upon consultation with the complainants in the matter, and evidential material currently at the disposal of the NPA, it became apparent that there is insufficient evidence to proceed with the prosecution. Prosecutorial-guided investigations will continue in pursuit of justice for all women affected by this heinous crime. The case was postponed to next week Tuesday for further investigations and all accused will remain in custody."
