New Covid-19 infections jump by 3 147
Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, says the total number of confirmed infections now stands at 58 568.
"The recoveries to date are 33 252 - this translates to a recovery rate of 56,8%.
The latest figures show that 1 284 patients have lost their lives to the virus - 39 from Western Cape, 31 from the Eastern Cape, and 4 from North West.
Yesterday, Mkhize announced that his department has reached the milestone of one million tests conducted across South Africa.
