Mapiti Matsena murder accused to appear in court

A 29-year-old suspect who has been accused for the murder of Gauteng Legislature member Mapiti Matsena, will appear at the Tshwane Magistrates court in Pretoria on Monday.

Matsena died after he was stabbed in the chest at his in Doornpoort on Wednesday evening.
Police spokesperson Vishnu Naidoo says the suspect was initially taken in for questioning in the early hours of Friday morning.

“Following intensive and extensive investigations, the accused has now been charged with the murder of Mr Matsena.
“He will appear in court on a charge of murder and possibly for housebreaking with intention to commit murder.”
Detectives are still continuing with the investigation to establish the motive for the killing.
