LISTEN: Soweto residents brave liquor store queues
Residents in Soweto braved the long queues to buy alcohol on Monday, nearly two months since the ban on the sale of alcohol was instituted.
The ban on the sale of booze was lifted in Monday as the country eased to level 3 of the lockdown.
At the Shoprite liquors in Protea Glen, one man said he arrived at 6 am to make sure he was the first line.
Another man said he was counting down to this day.

At least 200 people queued outside Boxer Liquors at the Sizwe shopping center and police had to be called in to assist with ensuring that people stand 1.5 meters apart to observe social distancing.
Only 15 customers were allowed inside the shop at a time.
