On the last day of Level 3 lockdown, Covid-19 recovery rate

As South Africa prepares to enter lockdown level two, the Covid-19 recovery rate remains at 80 %.

Statistics released by Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize on Sunday show that out of 587 345 recorded infections, 472 377 people have since recovered from Covid-19.
The number of daily recorded infections continues to decrease, with 3 692 new cases in the 24 hours leading up to Sunday evening.

Despite the decrease in Covid-19 infections, fatalities continue to increase.
A further 162 Covid-19 related deaths were recorded for Sunday, bringing the number of fatalities to 11 839.
