Joburg biker shot in robbery outside mall
Gauteng police are investigating a case of attempted murder after a biker was shot during a robbery outside a shopping mall in Johannesburg.
The shooting happened in along Athol Oaklands Birnam, north of Johannesburg on Tuesday.
The man was leaving the Blubird mall when two armed suspects accosted him and shot him in the upper body.
According to an eyewitness, the suspects robbed the man of his bag, jumped into a getaway vehicle, and sped off.
Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says it is not yet known what was contained in the bag.
"The victim was then rushed to the hospital to receive medical assistance. The police are appealing to anyone who might have witnessed the crime, to assist the police with the information."
No arrests have been made.
