Eskom must address wasteful expenditure to lower costs - OUT

The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (OUTA) says Eskom needs to address issues like wasteful expenditures to reduce electricity costs.

The comments from the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse come after the Electricity Minister acknowledged that electricity prices are exceptionally high.
Kgosientsho Ramokgopa said costs need to be brought down, and they are revising the electricity pricing policy.
The minister spoke during an interview with eNCA over the weekend.
OUTA's Stefanie Fick says affordable electricity is essential for businesses to thrive.
“Businesses need affordable electricity in order to grow. If we can get our economy to grow, it'll mean more job creation. Eskom has to reduce the wasteful expenditure, which they like to just pass on to the users of electricity, such as cost tokens.
"Eskom has no clue how many tokens are out there, which obviously has a significant impact on the costs of electricity."
