Eastern Cape mother in court for killing children with hamme

A 32-year-old Eastern Cape mother is due to appear in court on Thursday for allegedly killing her four children with a hammer.

Provincial police spokesperson Tembinkosi Kinana, says the family tragedy played out early on Wednesday near Ngcobo.
He says the bodies of the children, aged between two and 11, were found on Wednesday morning in the rondavel where they were sleeping with their 32-year-old mother.
Kinana says after a preliminary investigation, the woman was arrested and charged.
The children sustained serious injuries to their upper bodies.
The victims were identified as 11-year-old Lizalise, nine-year-old Inganathi, five-year-old Othalive and two-year-old Elihle.
