City power implements 6-hour load rotation in Florida
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
City Power has implemented load rotation in Florida and surrounding areas in the west of Johannesburg, as technicians fix breakers and cables.

The breaker at the Florida North Substation was damaged on Monday when a 33kv oil-filled cable was stolen.
Spokesperson, Isaac Mangena says it has caused a blackout over a vast area serviced by two substations.
"This affected the power supply for customers feeding from both Florida North substation and Florida Glen substation. We are estimating that the repairs will take at least 2 to 3 days if all goes according to plan.

"As such, due to limited capacity and to grant all customers a fair opportunity, we have decided to embark on a load rotation to last about 6 hours. The load will be rotated between Florida North and Florida Glen substations," added Mangena.
Areas affected, include:
* Florida
* Florida North
* Florida View
* Florida Glen
* Maraisburg
* Delarey
* Whiteridge
* Industria North
