21 Emergency Care Officers deregistered in Limpopo
Updated | By Lesetja Makhura
The Department of Health in Limpopo has terminated the contracts of 21 of its emergency services personnel.

Their axing comes after the Health Professional Council of South Africa deregistered them due to their failure to meet the required standards.
The department says another 46 emergency services personnel have also been requested to provide proof of their registration with the HPCSA.
The department's Matome Mawasha says the province is now left with 1494 personnel at Basic Life and Intermediate Life Support level.
"We cannot incur fruitless expenditure with employees that are the department but cannot do work. It is not really the department making decision to dismiss them, it is a matter between them and council, their professional body."
