12-year-old shot and killed in Westbury
Police in Gauteng are investigating the death of a young girl Westbury, west of Johannesburg.
The 12-year-old girl was shot and killed by unknown men.
The girl was believed to have been at a friend's birthday party when the suspects began firing shots.
Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says the 12-year-old girl was found in a pool of blood.
"The victim was transported to hospital where she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The circumstances that led to this shooting are unknown at this stage and no suspects are arrested as yet."
