Simon Cowell speaks about suffering from depression following crash
Updated | By Poelano Malema
Former 'X Factor' judge Simon Cowell has opened up about how his 2020 horror e-bike crash caused him to suffer from depression.
Simon Cowell found himself battling with depression after being involved in a second serious e-bike accident in less than eighteen months.
The 'America’s Got Talent' judge suffered a broken arm and says he was at his lowest. This made him consider getting psychological help.
"I considered therapy for the first time when I broke my back because I was very, very, very low," he told The Sun newspaper.
"But in the end, I decided against therapy as I had great doctors."

Cowell says what added to his stress was the possibility that he might not walk again and how he didn't know how to explain to his eight-year-old son Eric why he couldn't do certain things.
"I felt very depressed because I didn't know how to explain it to Eric. I couldn't do all the things I wanted to with him. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to walk again, to ever play football with him," he told the publication.
The 'Britain’s Got Talent' judge says he used to take a lot of painkillers.
"That was a low point. I was on a lot of painkillers but I got off them really quickly. I didn't want to go down that road," he told the publication.
The music mogul says he is grateful to be alive.
"I'm still wearing a back brace which I have to wear when I go out on my bike, and there are pretty big screws in my back, and that's for life. But I'm here, I'm alive. And I'm grateful," he said.
