"Nothing can ever fill the emptiness I feel in my heart because that part of my heart was designed and custom made just for you."
Losing a child is very painful and regardless of how much time passes, the pain never goes away.
South African singer Nhlanhla Mafu has taken to Instagram to talk about the pain she continues to feel after the passing of her daughter Zinathi. She was killed in a car accident in 2009.
Nhlanhla took to Instagram to wish her a happy heavenly birthday.
"My dearest daughter Zinathi, happy Heavenly 19th birthday," she wrote.
She went on to describe how she wishes she could hear her daughter's voice one more time.
"There's always so much I want to say but words always fail me. All I know is that I would give anything to just hear you say 'mom' again," she wrote.

The singer says her child left a void in her heart.
"Nothing can ever fill the emptiness I feel in my heart because that part of my heart was designed and custom made just for you," she wrote.
However, she says she is grateful that she got to spend six years with her daughter before her passing.
"I find comfort in knowing that I'm with you and you are with me always, and I thank God for giving me the best 6 years of my life. Your loving mom till the end of time."
