The police's Daniel Mavimbela says the actor cannot be named, as he has not been asked to enter a plea.

The actor's identity is known to Jacaranda FM News.

Mavimbela says the 32-year-old briefly appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates Court. The case has been postponed to June.

"Even though he did not enter a plea, he indicated that he would plead not guilty," Mavimbela says.

There are a number of investigations, including a laboratory report, that have to be concluded before the case is able to resume.

"With drunken driving cases there are a number technicalities that need to be looked into as well as other investigations that have to be concluded," Mavimbela says.

The actor was arrested last Friday morning after he was spotted driving erratically.

He is out on R1000 bail.
