Demi Lovato wants to 'empower' women

Demi Lovato hopes her new album 'Confident', which is being released next month, will "empower" women as she has deliberately chosen to show "attitude" on the new LP.
The 'Cool for the Summer' hitmaker - who is gearing up to release her new album 'Confident' - wasn't worried about showing any "attitude" on her new LP.
She told Billboard magazine: "I'm not afraid to have attitude on this album and just be able to say what I want, speak what I want - that's really what I'm most proud of on this album is kind of not caring what anyone else thinks. Just making music for me.
"I always try to send kind of an inspirational music to everybody but I also really want to empower women. I think that with this album, hopefully it will empower women."
And the 23-year-old beauty - who has battled an eating disorder - recently admitted she hopes to make her fans feel body confident by wearing skimpy outfits onstage.
She explained: "I wanted to show you can survive an eating disorder and have the confidence to show yourself. For me to say all that, then go onstage in layers and sweat - I was miserable. I was hot, but I didn't want to show my arms.
"For someone who's preached about body image, to go onstage [on tour last September] in head-to-toe clothing, that was a sign of somebody that was not totally secure with their body. I wasn't happy with my body image and part of me preaching was me trying to convince myself."
