Celine Dion 'to perform at husband's funeral'
Updated | By MornéJK
Celine Dion is reportedly planning to perform at husband René Angélil's funeral as she thinks it's the perfect way to honour her late spouse.
René lost his life earlier this week (14.01.16) following a battle with throat cancer, and his family and friends will gather to pay their tributes at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal.
The venue is the same place Celine married René 21 years ago, and the 47-year-old singer is said to be planning a moving, musical homage to her late spouse.
A source told HollywoodLife.com: "She wants to honour her husband in song and is looking to perform at his funeral."
According to sources, Celine is thinking about performing her famous ballad 'Because You Loved Me'.
It wouldn't be the first time Celine has used music as a form of therapy during her husband's illness.
When he was extremely poorly, Celine performed an incredibly touching rendition of 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face' during one of her residency shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.
René and Celine have 14-year-old son, René, and five-year-old fraternal twins Eddy and Nelson together while he also has three grown up children from a previous relationship - Anne-Marie, Patrick and Jean-Pierre.
René, who acted as a mentor and manager to Celine, had been battling throat cancer since 2013 and his family have encouraged donations to be made to a cancer charity.
