Black Coffee wins Best Dance/ Electronic Album award at the Grammys

South African DJ, record producer and songwriter Nkosinathi Maphumulo popularly known as Black Coffee has won his first-ever Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic album at the 2022 Grammys.
Black Coffee received his first-ever nomination for the 2021 released album, Subconsciously.
He was nominated alongside Illenium (Fallen Embers), Major Lazer (Music Is the Weapon (Reloaded)), Marshmello (Shockwave), Sylvan Esso (Free Love), and Ten City (Judgement).
The 64th annual Grammy Awards were held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday.
The nominations were announced in November last year with the plan to host the event in January but were delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Black Coffee who was accompanied by his son Esona thanked everyone for the support.
“Wow, I don’t even know what to say – I wanna thank God for the gift of the music, and being able to share it with the world and heal some souls and help people go through whatever they are going through in life.
I wanna thank my team, Christianna, Samantha, China …I wanna thank my fans and people who follow what I do all over the world,” said Black Coffee.
