Review: Miley Cyrus - Bangerz
In the past six months Miley Cyrus has shed her good girl image and embraced a more raunchy street edge. She’s picked up a few friends along the way too. Big Sean, Mike Will Made It, Nelly and even Future are all proof that Miley has embraced a more hip-hop vibe.
We can’t stop was a radio friendly infectious track but the video made us take notice at how much Miley has changed.
Cue her second single Wrecking Ball. Again there’s no denying the vocal talent of Miley with this track and then another shock video to promote it.
Having listened to the entire Bangerz album (and still on repeat) Miley has offered us a diverse mix of dance tracks and ballads that feature some of our hottest artists on the scene right now.
Every artist has a turning point, a reinvention so to speak and Bangerz, her fourth studio album, did just that for Miley.
Stand out tracks:
4x4 featuring Nelly:
I’m eagerly anticipating this as a single. Nelly and Miley collaborate to bring a tongue-in-cheek dirty country feel to this track.
SMS (Bangerz) featuring Britney Spears:
Forget that Britney is on a comeback of her own. Miley eventually got to work with her idol on this dance track. It’s pop, it’s repetitive and corny, but in a weird way this will definitely be a club hit.
FU featuring French Montana:
Miley’s vocal talent really does lift the track with an Amy Winehouse feel to it. Definitely a strong contender for a single.
Miley has just released her third single from the album entitled Adore you. Here’s the thing; If you get the album now and listen to all the tracks (like I did with Adore you) irrespective of whatever shock tactics Miley pulls with the videos, you will be able to appreciate the track for the art it’s supposed to be.
"Every time I do something, I want to remember, 'This is what separates me from everyone else,'" Cyrus says in the upcoming MTV documentary Miley Cyrus: The Movement.
And she did just that. Bangerz is fresh, featuring skillful writers such as Pharell and co-produced by a game changer – Mike Will Made It.
