The Weeknd wins 'Global Artist of the Year' at Apple Music Awards

Congratulations are in order for The Weeknd after he won 'Global Artist of the Year' at Apple Music Awards 2021.

'Take My Breath' hitmaker, The Weeknd, has just bagged another award. 

He was chosen as the winner of 'Global Artist of the Year' at Apple Music Awards 2021. 

His album, 'After Hours', quickly surpassed one million pre-adds on Apple Music, and is the most pre-added album of all time by a male artist on the platform, states the Apple website

The album also holds the record for the "most streamed R&B/Soul album in its first week in 73 countries and the single from the album, 'Blinding Lights', peaked at No. 1 on Apple Music’s Daily Top 100: Global chart, and ranks as one of the 20 most Shazamed songs of all time," states the website. 

The Weeknd has thanked Apple for the award.
