Media mogul and the queen of interviews, Oprah Winfrey, sat down with Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson to chat about her new film, 'Respect'.

During the tell-all interview about the movie, Hudson revealed the inspiration behind her portrayal of Aretha Franklin and how the legendary singer changed her life, also sharing details about their last conversation. 

"After I won an Oscar for 'Dreamgirls' we had breakfast and she (Aretha Franklin) asked me to play her," Hudson said.

Hudson remembered how Franklin told her in the meeting that she will win an Oscar for playing her. 

Hudson and Franklin spoke for weeks to prepare for the role.

"I miss hearing from here - she sang to me on the phone."
