In an interview with Apple Music, Stormzy talks about his struggles with social media and how Adele's advice saved him.
Social media can be a very toxic place.
Several celebrities have spoken about the bullying they have experienced online. One such celebrity is Stormzy.
The British rapper opened up about the time he found social media to be a toxic environment. During his interview with Apple Music, the star said he struggled to protect himself online.
“On this place, I can’t protect my energy. Because it’s just flying at me from a thousand different avenues," Stormzy told Apple.
However, he says Adele came to his rescue.

He says the 'Hello' hitmaker told him about the importance of distancing himself from social media.
“You need to walk away and you need to take a break. You need some space. Protect your energy,” Stormzy says Adele told him.
The 'Own It' hitmaker went on to detail how much he appreciates Adele.
“Adele, I love her deeply. And we’ve always had amazing conversations," he said.
He added that Adele is not just his music associate, but "a true friend" of his.
"So whenever we kick it, we’ve had really beautiful and deep conversations," he said.
In 2021, Adele also took time off social media.
She told The Face that she took a break because it was addictive and interfering with her life.
"I just would find myself not getting my errands done for the day. It's made to be addictive. It does a very good job of it," Adele told the magazine.
"There could have been something really pressing I had to do and I wouldn't get it done because I'd be looking at someone else's life! Or looking at nail designs or interior design sites or reading hours of news that made me actually feel bad about the world," she continued. "It just f---ing set me back. I had to catch up on all of my stuff I had to do," she said.
The multi-award-winning star added that she also prefers talking to people she knows rather than strangers online.
"I don't wanna talk to people that I don't f---ing know. That doesn't work for me. I need a human touch," she said. "I don't wanna be sitting in a room on my phone and talking more to people that I don't f---ing know than I do know."
