Social media users react to Nicki Minaj's Grammys snub

Social media users are not happy with Nicki Minaj being left out of the Grammy's nomination list, despite her music dominating the number one spot on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart.

Once again Nicki Minaj has been snubbed by the Grammys!

The list of nominations was released on November 15 and Nicki did not make the cut.

This is despite her being the only rapper this decade to spend 10 weeks consecutively at #1 on Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart, reports Rap Alert.

In August, Nicki became the first female solo rap artist to debut at the Hot 100’s summit since Lauryn Hill in 1998.

She also made history by becoming the only female rapper to earn 20 Top 10 hits after her single, 'Do We Have A Problem?', debuted on the charts.

But despite all the success and top-charting singles, Nicki did not receive any nomination.

She had submitted 'Super Freaky Girl' and 'Do We Have a Problem?' to the Grammys.

Last month, she called out the Recording Academy for moving 'Super Freaky Girl' out of the Grammy’s rap category and placing it in a pop one.

“The Grammys is having blogs post that Variety article to distract you from the fact that ‘SUPER FREAKY GIRL’ was unfairly moved from the rap category while other poppy rap songs remain in the RAP CATEGORY,” Minaj wrote in an Instagram Story.

Although this year Nicki has not commented about being snubbed by the Grammys, in 2020 she complained on Twitter..

“Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my Best New Artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on Billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade — went on to inspire a generation,” she tweeted.

Nicki Minaj has received 10 Grammy nominations but has not secured any wins.

Nicki's fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment after Nicki was not nominated.
