Snotkop, Refentse, Black Coffee, and Brendan Peyper get SAMA nods

The South African Music Awards honours the country’s best music talent in key categories, as they battle for the South African industry’s highest honour.

The internationally-acclaimed DJ Black Coffee walked away with an impressive five nods for this year's awards. His album, Music is King, secured him nominations in the following categories: 'Album of the Year', 'Male Artist of the Year', and 'Best Dance Album'. He also received a double nomination in the 'Collaboration of the Year' category, for Drive featuring David Guetta and Delilah Montagu, as well as for Wish You Were Here featuring Asanda Lusaseni-Mvana.

Artists who keep soaring up the charts made the #SAMA25 'Best Pop Album' nominees list: Majozi for his self titled album, 'Idols SA' winner Paxton for This Is Me, 'SA's Got Talent' '14 winner Twolana for her album 2.0.1.5, Jarrad Rickets for his album Break The Rules, and Tressor for Nostalgia.

Refentse, Jan Blohm, Douvoordag, Coenie de Villiers, and Almero all got nods in the Beste Kontemporere Musiek Album category:

Nominees for the Beste Pop Album category are; Snotkop, Jan Bloukaas, Brendan Peyper, The Rockets, and 4 Werke.

The Samas will take place on June 1 at Sun City.
