Demi Lee Moore leads Spotify charts under Afrikaans category
The singer, alongside Lianie May and Riana Nel, top the Afrikaans artist and album lists on Spotify.
Demi Lee Moore, Lianie May and Riana Nel reigned supreme this women's month after being announced as the leading Afrikaans artists on Spotify.
According to a statement shared on TimesLive, the three are at the top of Afrikaans artist and album lists per Spotify data.
“People might not realise how diverse a range of genres female Afrikaans artists play in,” Henco Harmse, Spotify’s Afrikaans specialist manager, artist and label partnerships in South Africa, told the publication.

“In addition to traditional genres such as pop, praise and worship and country, there are Afrikaans-speaking women doing really interesting things in genres such as gqom, hip-hop and dance,” he added.
Demi Lee Moore is the 2018 winner of 'Die Kontrak'. The singer is diverse and has released hits such as 'Neon Moon' and 'There Was Jesus'.
Lianie May is an award-winning singer, performer, and actress. Some of her songs include 'Bietjie Benoni' and 'da'Vat Hy'.
Riana Nel is one of the most-loved Afrikaans female singers having released songs such as 'Hou Die Hemel Oop' and 'Moenie'.
