If you are not sure what to do with all the leftover wine from a party, then these tips might come in handy.

Once you open your wine it has a short lifespan.  It loses its colour and flavour as it starts to oxidize, and it may even become unpalatable for snobby wine drinkers.

While box wine can last up to 28 days, sparkling wine lasts less than three days in the fridge, and that's with a wine stopper.

Corked red wine, and full-bodied white wine can last three to five days in a cool, dark place and fridge respectively.

But before your pour it down the sink, consider trying these clever ways to use leftover wine.

Use it to make a sauce

Freeze your leftover wine in an ice-cube tray and use them to make sauces. Simply pop the cubes into a pan when making a red or white wine sauce. You can even use them in stews. But just remember that you can only keep your wine frozen for a short period of time.

Use it to clean your vegetables

The thought of "wasting" wine by spraying it on vegetables could cause many wine lovers to gasp in disgust. But wine is actually a good way to rinse your fruit and vegetables. It can help wash away bacteria and other impurities better than water can. Use a spray bottle filled with wine, and get rinsing.
