Sunday can be a fun or relaxed day but some people experience Sunday anxiety.

The Cleveland Clinic defines this as "feelings of intense anxiety and dread that routinely occur every Sunday."

This intense anxiety normally occurs later on a Sunday, however, some may experience it the moment they wake up.

Symptoms of Sunday anxiety can range from increased sweating, upset stomach, headache, and trouble sleeping.

Causes of Sunday anxiety:

  1. High-stress job.
  2. Busy week ahead.
  3. Overthinking.
  4. Struggling to balance work and home (You start to think about all your obligations in both settings).
How to reduce Sunday anxiety:

  1. Create healthy sleep habits (Have the same bedtime and wake-up time on weekdays and weekends, create an environment that makes you want to sleep, and establish a relaxing nighttime routine).
  2. Turn off notifications (Turn off all notifications every Friday when you leave work).
  3. Relax (Go for a walk, take a warm bath or go for a coffee with a friend).
  4. Create a weekly plan.
  5. Make Mondays a day you look forward to (Plan dinner with a friend or family member, watch a new series or movie after work, or go to the gym).
