Man slammed for driving with a child standing up in a convertible car

Social media users were left outraged after a man shared a video of himself driving with a child who was standing up in a convertible car without a seatbelt.

A video has been trending on social media showing a man driving with a child in a convertible car. 

The child is standing up on the back seat and is not wearing a seatbelt. 

The man, who goes by the name Andile, went live on Instagram. 

Many slammed the man for being careless and tagged the South African Police Service on his live video, asking that he be arrested.

"Possibilities: 1. The child could decide to jump out and he’ll be screaming.2. Whilst this is happening he drinking Bev , constituting drinking and driving. @SAPoliceService  this man needs to be behind bars! Maybe he’ll be able to think straight," commented Debora Mkhabo. 

"I won’t lie, I judge parents who don’t strap their kids, I don’t care what age they are, if self is strapped why can’t the child, watching this made my blood boil," another user wrote. 

"Irresponsible parenting, social welfare should step in and find this parents if he is the parent," another user commented.

In another video posted on his Instagram, the man said the boy he was driving with is his child.

"Shorty, come here and tell TikTok people that you are daddy's boy and are always traveling with daddy. We are sorry for what happened yesterday," he said in the video.
