Over 85% of dating ends up in break-ups, according to Hellen Chen, the author of 'Hellen Chen's Love Seminar: the Missing Manual that will Make Your Relationship Last'.

The goal of many people entering into a relationship is to make it work, but there are certain things that can bring an end to that relationship. 

Popular Twitter user Barry Roux asked: "Why did you and your ex break up? Don’t skip we wanna read yours stories", and scores of people took to the social media platform to share what made them end their relationships. 

Let's look at some of the common answers:

Cheating 

Cheating has destroyed a lot of relationships.

That is because trust is an integral part of a relationship, so once it has been tampered with, it affects other aspects as well.  

Religious reasons 

The moral compass of an individual is defined by their spirituality; it is the essence of their being. 

While many people respect each other's beliefs, others struggle to manage their religious differences. 

This can lead to a break-up. 

Not being compatible 

Money Issues 

Finances are one of the top three reasons for separation, according to statistics. 

This can occur due to poor money management, putting pressure on your partner to contribute financially, and living beyond your means.

Sexual incompatibility

“Sex is a glue that bonds a couple together, and if it’s done right, it brings joy and intimate connection to the relationship,” says marriage counsellors Dr Didah and Phanthi Mokwena.

Scores of people said bad sex in their relationship caused strife and resulted in them having to call it quits.
