DrD on how to plan for year-end holidays that bring more joy than stress
Updated | By Di Macpherson
The end-of-year holidays are fast-approaching, and while this is a time
of joy and connection for many, it can also be a stressful time for
various reasons, including strained family relationships and financial
pressures. 'DrD' Dorianne Weil gives
some practical advice for how to approach the holiday season...
For some, the upcoming December-January holidays may be the first opportunity of the year to be together with family.
"And so while people are really, really looking forward to that, and knowing that this is going to be a celebration, there is also sometimes a certain amount of trepidation. There's the longing and looking forward to and then there's this feeling sometimes of forced gaiety that it has to be amazing; that we've got to make it work in a way we've never made it work before.. and so people can get a little anxious," says Weil.
For others though, who are depressed already, it can be a very tough time of isolation and feeling out of control.
In this week's Thrive with 'DrD' podcast, Dorianne Weil
mentions some ways to ensure the Christmas holidays bring you more joy than stress. It's an eight-minute listen. Listen below.
