How to train for your first 8km run
Updated | By Laila Majiet
Training for your first race can be daunting.
However, it really doesn't have to be.
The Discovery Jacaranda FM Spring Walk is fast approaching and for those who have already started training - like Workzone's Mack Rapapali and The Late Show's Carla Mackenzie - keep at it!
For those who need a little kick-start this is especially for you.
The Jacaranda FM News team met up with fitness coach Mike da Silva from the Fitness Fort in Linden, Johannesburg.
He has the perfect tips to pace you through your training for the Discovery Jacaranda FM Spring Walk's new addition, the 8km run.
He says an 8km run is a little more challenging than a 5km run which most people wing.
An 8km run requires runners to develop endurance, strength and stamina.
